Kneehill Rhythm Collective
Kneehill Rhythm Collective was born out of a desire to grow jazz music in the Three Hills and Kneehill County area. Our desire is to facilitate collaborations with local musicians as well as partnering with professional musicians from outside of our local area.
We regularly provide interactive, educational workshops to develop improvisational skills, learn practical music theory and build familiarity with jazz/blues repetoire and language. In partnership with the Three Hills Arts Academy, we currently put on 2 large shows per year, one in the spring and one for Christmas in early December.
We also perform various small shows, public and private, as our schedule and bookings allow.

Most people call me Jono. Along with my wife Darta, I head up Kneehill Rhythm Collective's efforts.

I have been involved in music on and off for my whole life. 6 years of post secondary music education, including 3 years of Jazz Studies at Capilano University in North Vancouver, BC has provided me a foundation of musical experience and knowledge that I continue to build on through ongoing studies in performance, music theory and arranging.

I have a passion for live music, and jazz in particular. The improvisational aspect of jazz is endlessly fascinating for me. The colorful harmony, exciting melody and infectious rhythm of jazz tunes are my favorite setting for exploring music expression. I enjoy being challenged, and supporting others in their musical journey. My goal is to make jazz more accessible and to inspire people to an appreciation for this incredible music!​​​​​​
